Heidi Hutter has over thirty-five years of experience in property/casualty reinsurance and began her career in 1979 with Swiss Re in New York. From 1993 to 1995, she was Project Director for Equitas at Lloyd's of London, which became the largest run-off company in the world. She was CEO for Swiss Re America and was also a member of the Executive Board of Swiss Re from 1996 to 1999. In 2001, she helped form Black Diamond Group and participated in the buyout and restructuring of Talbot Underwriting at Lloyd’s. She served on its board of directors until its sale to Validus Re in July, 2007. In 2005, Ms. Hutter, Jose Montemayor and Jay Novik formed Black Diamond Capital Partners; a private equity fund specializing in insurance. Ms. Hutter is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a member of the Board of Overseers of The School of Risk Management at St. John’s University. In 1995, she was named Insurance Woman of The Year. Currently, she is a Director of Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: AHL), Shenandoah Life Insurance Company, SBLI USA Life Insurance Company, Inc., and Prosperity Life Insurance Group LLC. She previously served on the boards of AmeriLife Group LLC and Aquila, Inc. (NYSE: ILA).
